Terminals never send an OUT. TimeVault derives sessions from the raw punch stream and recomputes them per worker, per work date, so payroll reads one clean table.
Immutable. Idempotent.
Every punch is written once and never edited. Duplicates are detected, not deleted. Time-range pulls from the terminal are the reconciliation net.

Sessions are built from punches by rule. Change a rule, recompute the day. Manual corrections are kept verbatim through every recompute.
